Learn more about CBD

CBD (Cannabidiol) is one of many active ingredients found in the cannabis or hemp plants. THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol)  is another active ingredient found in the cannabis plant, which is what gets the user "High" or "Stoned".

CBD is non-psychoactive and will not get you high.

CBD has been used as medicine for centuries all over the world including China, India and the Middle East. It was also very commonly used even in Great Britain with records dating back to its use as early as 300BC. Used for medicinal purposes, these cannabinoids interact with cell receptors located in the brain to suppress the release of neurotransmitters. Our brain naturally produces its own cannabinoids known as endocannabinoids. In the same way, CBD is the chemical compound produced naturally in the cannabis plant (commonly referred to as marijuana).  The flowering tops (buds) of resinous cannabis have large amounts of medicinal components. However, that is not the only part of the plant that is used for medicinal and therapeutic purposes. The roots of cannabis plants also provide relief to various ailments and is used in many traditional cultures.

CBD and CBD content-rich products which are less psychoactive than products derived from THC dominant strains makes CBD products appealing for patients looking for relief from conditions such as:

The use of CBD around the world is becoming more and more popular as laws on medicinal and recreational use of Cannabis and products containg either CBD, THC or both, are becoming more relaxed. In the UK cannabis is still illegal, however in 2017 the UK's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) classed CBD as medicine, providing it meets a strict set of "safety, quality and efficiency standards".

CBD is now completely legal in the UK providing it does not contain THC above 0.2% which is a controlled substance under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. Products containing only CBD are now available to purchase from many high street health stores and online.

E-cigarettes and vaporisers (vape pens) are becoming more and more popular and many cigarette smokers are converting to vaping. When vaping CBD e-liquid (CBD e-juice), the CBD enters the lungs and diffuses directly into the bloodstream rather than passing through the gut and liver. This allows nearly four times as much CBD to enter the blood circulation for a maximum bio-availability of roughly 50 to 60 percent. This means for every 100 milligrammes of CBD that you vape, 50 to 60 milligrammes will actually reach the bloodstream. When using CBD Tinctures (oral drops) the oral bio-availability of CBD is roughly 15 percent. So vaping is by far the most effective way to take CBD.

We stock a wide range of CBD products. including e-liquids, eddibles, creams, balms and more.

Terpenes are essential oils found within the cannabis (marijuana) plants which give the buds its natural taste and aroma. They are found within the same trichome glands as THC & CBD. However, this is not all, terpenes do more than just add flavour and smell to the buds! They are also directly responsible for the unique "feeling" associated with various strains of cannabis plants. So this means that two plants could have the exact same Cannabinoid structure but the terpene structure would be different. Hence resulting in very different experiences between strains.

What is Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum and CBD isolate?

Full Spectrum

In simple terms, full spectrum contains all of the extract from the flower (plant) being used to extract the CBD. Full spectrum CBD is made up of the entire profile of the plant including the acids, nutrients, terpenes etc. and will also contain THC. How much THC depends on the strain and genetics of the plant used and the oil extraction process.

Broad Spectrum

Broad spectrum includes all of the extract and the entire profile of the plant except the THC element.

CBD isolate refers to the purest form of CBD (99%) and is proven to have quick results if your looking for only CBD and totally want to avoid THC.
